An election used to narrow the field of candidates, think basketball or soccer playoff games which decide which teams play in the final.
Who are New York's two senators?
Chuck Schumer. He has been in office for over 20 years. He is up for re-election in 2029. Kristen Gillibrand. She has been in office for over 10 years. She is up for re-election this year (2024). They are both Democrats.

What is a closed primary?
Primary elections are closed to non-party members. Only registered members of a party can participate in a political party's primary election.

27 reps: 8 Republicans and 19 Democrats
After the 2020 Census count, New York lost one seat and will have 26 representatives.
What is early voting?
Instead of having just one day to vote, voters in NYS get to vote over 10 days.
What is pre-registration?
In NYS citizens 16 and 17 can pre-register to vote and the Board of Elections will automatically register them when they turn 18.
