How do I use the restroom?
I raise my hand to ask Miss Uchtman if it is an appropriate time to leave the classroom to use the restroom. If it is, you may get up and sign out of the classroom, located by the door. Once signed out, take the bathroom pass and walk to the nearest bathroom, which is down the hall. If it has been longer than two minutes, Miss Uchtman will come to investigate if you have disappeared. Students may use the restroom twice a week to ensure they are not missing too much class time.

What is an assigned seat?
This is a seat that is assigned to each student from the teacher. Seats will be assigned once every quarter. Students can be subject to move based on eyesight or a student's actions. Student's cannot switch seats simply because they may not know or like the person sitting next to them. If a student has actual issues will a person please come speak to Miss Uchtman.
What happens first if I chose to break a classroom expectation?
You will receive a warning. A warning is a physical card that will serve as a reminder to a student for the remainder of the period.
What do I do if I stopped paying attention during instructions?
Ask your table partner what was said then you can ask Miss Uchtman if you still do not understand.

In your class period turn in tray, located under your class period cabinet.
What is a Vocabulary Quiz?
It is a quiz that takes place every Friday. It is a matching quiz that covers the vocabulary talked about in the week's lesson.
What happens the second time I chose to break a classroom expectation?
You will gather your things and move to a different seat in the classroom away from distractions. Here you will fill out a behavior reflection form you will give to Miss Uchtman once completed.
What should I do if I'm done with my school assignments?
Miss Uchtman believes in using your brains while at school. Technology is rotting our brains. If all must do's are complete and other school assignments are complete, I have plenty of books in my room you can borrow. But they must stay in the room. I also have puzzles that can be worked on QUIETLY. Once a puzzle is started it MUST be completed. Only one puzzle at a time.
What should I do need to borrow a pencil?
Located on the whiteboard are pencils with names. Their homes are on the whiteboard, if you take the poor pencil from its home, you are pencil napping and Miss Uchtman will come after you. Once you borrow the pencil, sign it out by writing your name by the pencil.
After grabbing your notebook from your class period's cabinet, what should you do now?
Go to my seat and begin writing the answer to my warmup question. I can quietly talk to the people around me, but I am not standing up talking to my friends on the other side of the room.
What is lunch detention?
Lunch detention is a consequence that can happen to a student if an action is repeated one too many times or if a student has too much missing work. Students will receive a pass from Miss Uchtman to come to her room to sit silently and eat.
What happens the third time I chose to break a classroom expectation?
You will receive a lunch detention and parents will be contacted via email, TalkingPoints, or phone call.
When can you use electronics?
As using personal technology is now outlawed (illegal) in school, they should not be accessed during school hours. Chromebooks will not be used much in science class. They will only be used as instructed by Miss Uchtman.
What do I do if I am absent?
Look at the schedule on the whiteboard or the schedule on Canvas. Do your best to locate the assignment on Canvas or look in the paper organizers by Miss Uchtman's desk.
Where does my chromebook and notebook go at the end of class?
Trick question: your chromebook does not leave your book bag unless stated so by Miss Uchtman. Your notebook is placed in your class period's cabinet neatly.
What is a lab?
A lab is a hands-on learning activity that helps students review and gain knowledge that involve the week's lesson.
What happens fourth time I chose to break a classroom expectation?
You will receive a referral.
Why should I listen to my teacher?
Your teacher has already completed 6th grade, they know what is needed for you to complete 6th grade too. High expectations from a teacher may seem annoying, but they are only preparing you for the future. All in all, your teacher only wants the best for you physically, emotionally, and academically.

What is Miss Uchtman's late work policy?
All assignments are due on Fridays, unless told otherwise. If an assignment is turned in the next week, it is 10% off. This continues until it is five weeks late, then the assignment automatically becomes 50%.
How do I earn 10 points a week?
Everyday there will be a warm up on the board. Students must write down the answer in their notebook. Everyday each student will trade their notebook with their table partner. You and your table partner will grade each other's answer based on effort. You can earn up to 2 points a day. Each day's score will be tracked in the tracker that is glued into your notebook.
What is a referral?
How can I borrow Miss Uchtman's materials if I do not have them?
If materials are need they will be placed on the front desk. If you need to borrow a material, you must walk to the front, take what you need, and take off one shoe. This ensures Miss Uchtman gets all of her materials back.
