How do I get a pencil?
Pencils are located at the table when you walk in. You can get a pencil either before class starts or after Ms. Smith has released you.
Ms. Smith is not available right now because she is helping other students, on the phone, answering the door or something else.
There are other teachers in the room but I need to Ms. Smith to answer this question. What should I do?
Try asking another teacher in the room, ask a peer, or looking around to see what others are doing to give me clues on what I should be doing.
How many tissues and sanitizer can I get?
You are welcome to get whatever you need.
Please keep tissues to 1-2 a person.
Sanitizer 1-2 pumps ONLY per class.
What if I need an icepack, band aid, other first aid items or something else?
You may ask me for those things, I have them in my classroom.
*Please keep in mind if it is urgent or you have a special reason I will send you.
Ms. Smith will be checking the attendance each class period. If you do see someone and they are in Ms. Smith's class this class period then yes.
Ms. Smith is in the middle of the lesson, instructions or is unavailable but I need materials (pencil, glue, highlighter, paper etc.)
I wait until after Ms. Smith has released us.
*IF you need materials during a lesson for that lesson, then please raise your hand to let me know you do not have what you need and I will get it to you.
Ms. Smith is unavailable, there are no other teachers in the room, I have no one I can ask around me. What do I do?
You can look at the screen to see directions, or you can look around the room to see what everyone is doing.
Can I talk during independent work?
If you have a question, if you need something, if you dont understand something it is okay to ask a peer.
I just went to the bathroom and threw up, can I go to the nurse?
No, unfortunately the last I heard was that we had to visibly see you vomit before we can send you to the nurse.
I see someone taking a pencil from Ms. Smith's room. Should I tell Ms. Smith?
No, keep in mind sometimes people forget to put pencils back.
I will remind you at the end of class to return pencils.
I need to sharpen my pencil, when can I?
I can get or sharpen a pencil when we are directed to start work.
I want to tell Ms. Smith or another teacher in the room something I think is important. But Ms. Smith told me to go back to my desk, or that I can't talk about it right now. Why?
During class is NOT the time to talk about personal things. Unless it is a serious and IMMEDIATE emergency, I have to wait until before or after class.
I need to use the restroom but so does everyone else. When can I go?
We will keep a list of students who need the restroom.
*If we are not able to then we will have to approve passes based on whoever puts in the pass first.
I have a headache, can I go to the nurse?
No, sorry this is not an option. The nurse cannot do anything for your headache. I can give you an icepack and dim the lights.
I see someone with a vape pen, they haven't used it in front of me. But they told me they have it, what should I do?
Put in a councilor call online or put in an anonymous alert.
This is not a tattle tale situation, these items can be extremely harmful to you.
Do I need to ask Ms. Smith if I can sharpen my pencil or get a pencil?
No. If Ms. Smith has already dismissed us and I don’t need anything for whole group or small group, I do not need to ask.
How do I know when I can be out of my seat?
Whenever Ms. Smith says"restrooms, trash, and sanitizer are open". Then I can get up to get a pencil, materials, paper, tissue, ask for the restroom, sharpen a pencil, charge my computer etc.
How do I ask to go to the bathroom?
E-Hall pass. You may not ask before class starts to go to the restroom.
I have a papercut, can I go to the nurse for a band aid?
No, if you truly have a non-life threatening, do not need stiches cut then I will provide you with a band aid.
My friend was rude to me and hurt my feelings. I want to go talk to my favorite teacher and I dont care that class has started.
What should they have done instead?
I got up and tried to sharpen my pencil or get materials and Ms. Smith told me to sit down and wait. But I NEED my pencil or materials now.
Why did she tell me to sit down and wait?
Ms. Smith has not released us, if I need anything during a lesson I have to raise my hand.
When can I freely get up and go throw my trash away? (if you ever have any)
When Ms. Smith releases us or says we can.
what if our bathroom is full but other bathrooms are open and I can make a pass for them?
you will have to wait until E hall pass allows you to request the restroom. We will not approve a pass for a different restroom.
I have a valid reason for needing to go to the nurse, it is not an emergency and Ms. Smith approved the visit. Do I still need to make an E-hall pass?
YES! you HAVE to create an E-Hall pass for the nurse. If the nurse is unavailable and it is not an emergency you will have to wait.
I saw something illegal or dangerous happening in class. What should I do?
Ask to speak with Ms. Smith or another teacher in the room. Tell us what is going on and let us handle it.
