When are times I should not get out of my seat?
Anytime the teacher is providing whole class instruction you should stay in your seat unless there is an emergency.
You can get out of your seat when we are working independently or transitioning to a new lesson/activity.
Who gets to sit in the beanbags?
Beanbag kids. Two random students. Every buddy will get a turn throughout the year.
Peardeck and White boards
Are to be used as tools. You must have completed your work before you can doodle or play. Always follow teacher instructions.
Germs
Sanitize your hands as you enter the classroom.
Wash your hands after using the restroom.
If you need to cough or sneeze, please do so into your elbow.
You are always welcome to wear a mask.
Stay home if you’re sick. You will have time when you return to makeup school work. I’m here to help you :)
Class Tallies
Teacher vs Student Tallies
If students build up 15 tallies (subtracting the teacher's) they get 15 minutes extra recess that week.
Everything you need to know to turn in an assignment:
Completed work will either be turned in or put into your three-ring binder.
Complete the entire assignment given before turning it in.
Turn into the turn in basket at the back of the classroom
Make sure you always write your NAME and your NUMBER on your assignments.
If you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask!
Chromebook Procedures
Take your assigned chromebook (the same number as your backpack hook).
Use two hands to carry the chromebook safely to your desk or workspace.
Only stay on websites you are TOLD to be on.
Treat your Chromebook with respect.
Remember – Chromebooks are TOOLS – not toys!

You can earn Bankaroo Bucks by completing your work!
Completing bellwort, math pages, and math homework is a great way to earn money.
Going to the Bathroom
Make sure to use the restroom before school, at lunch and during any breaks.
If the need arises during class, you may ask to go to the restroom after the teacher has finished instructions. Ask Mrs. G before you go.
Go to the closest bathroom quickly and quietly.
Going to the bathroom should take no longer than 3 minutes.
One student can leave to go to the restroom at a time
Place a bathroom pass on your desk (the hand sanitizer bottle).
Wash your hands after using the restroom and replace the hall pass.
Coming in from Lunch
Line up quietly at the outside door.
Enter the classroom quietly.
Grab a drink quietly if needed.
Listen for instructions from Mrs. Garrett
Get out the materials you need.

If the whole class follows, you can earn class tallies.
Technology brought from home needs to stay in your pockets or backpacks at school. This includes smart watches.
Connect 4
When you're doing something awesome in class and Mrs. G notices you get a turn in connect 4. Mrs. G is red and the class is yellow.
What to do if you have an emergency (like throwing up)
If you have a restroom related EMERGENCY – just go! Take a trash can if needed.
This would include throwing up or if you are bleeding.
If a different emergency arises and you are unsure, always check with the teacher.
Clean Up at the End of the Day
Clear off desk and gather your belongings.
Clean up trash around desk area. If the desk looks soiled, you may wash it off with a wipe.
Stack chairs at the end of the rows.
Stand quietly by your desk until dismissed by the teacher.

Line up in number line order for recess (alphabetical order for lunch).

Independent Reading Time
During independent reading time you will be reading independently at your desk.
Bean Bag kids can sit in the beanbag.
You may get on Sora if your teacher advises you to do so.

This is not free time. You can't draw or write.

When should I sharpen my pencil?
Make sure you have a sharpened pencil at the beginning of class.
If you need to sharpen your pencil….. if you have your own sharpener, use it. If you need to use the classroom sharpener, you may quietly do so IF we are working independently. If we are in the middle of a lesson or someone is talking to the class, wait until after.
You may take a sharpened pencil from the blue basket if you need one and you cannot sharpen your pencil.
Go the quickest route to the sharpener. Sharpen quickly and quietly.
Do not interrupt others while sharpening your pencil.
Beginning of the Day
Enter prepared with sharpened pencil & any other supplies needed.
Hang your backpack on the HOOK. Use your number!
If you need to eat breakfast or go to the bathroom, go quietly. Return to class quietly when you are finished.
Go quickly & quietly to your seat.
Look at the front white board for any special instructions.
Begin working on bell work and/or other assignments.
Stay quiet so others can think!
Look at the Must Dos and then May Dos if you finish early! Do not talk, this is independent time.
Classroom Library Procedures
When you find a book you want to check out fill out the checkout sheet.
Treat your book nice (like a baby)
Classroom books will stay at school. Library books can go home.
You must try a book for three days before you return it.
When you return a book put it in the red basket and cross your name off the checkout sheet.
Assembly Expectations
We will walk quietly in the hall
Sit down as directed by teacher
You may whisper quietly until someone is on stage to start the assembly
We will sit on our pockets so those behind us can see.
During the assembly we will show respect by not talking
Remember, you are the examples to the rest of the school. Let's be the best tigers! (class compliments = 5 tallies)
