What to do if you need a tissue or water

  • Go and get a tissue if you need one. 

  • Take a sip from your water bottle. If your bottle is empty, you can fill it at recess time.

  • The class should always be a reasonable volume. 

  • It is never ok to yell in the class

What to do if you need a pencil?
  • Before 9:00am, you may ask Mrs. Marcotte for one free pencil. You will not be given a new pencil for free every day. 

  • After 9:00am, a pencil will be $2

Indoor Recess

  • No computers

  • You may find a quiet activity to do (draw, read, play a game)

  • You may use the snap cubes or math tiles 

  • You are not running around

  • The volume of the room remains reasonable!

What to do in the library (4 points)

  • We are using whisper voices in the library 

  • You are looking for a book, not talking to friends, or running around.

  • If you are done looking for a book, or are not getting a book: sit on the floor, and quietly read or wait for everyone to be done. 

  • We are not sitting on the couch. 

  • We are staying out of the daycare space.

During lesson time

  • Your eyes are on the teacher or on the board 

  • You are not talking to the people around you unless being asked to turn and talk

  • You are not fidgeting with things at your desk 

  • You are trying to participate in our learning

Moving people and things around the room.

Restroom procedures 

  • Put your hand up and ask to go to the washroom. 

  • 1 girl and 1 boy may be out of the room at a time 

  • Sign out by writing your name and the time that you leave the room. 

  • When you sign out, write your name on ONE line, directly under the previous person.

  • You are welcome to read the classroom books. 

  • Please be respectful of Mrs. Marcotte’s books. 

  • Keep the shelves neat and tidy.

  • Stay in your seat. 

  • Keep your garbage with you until the end

  • Speak quietly with the people at your table

  • Put your hand up and ask an adult on duty if you have to leave the room.

  • We come to the carpet quietly. 

  • Sit cross-legged at the carpet. We do not lay down

  • Work at your spot unless the teacher has said you can move around the room 

  • Work quietly, or use a quiet speaking voice with those around you.

  • Clean up your area and put your book bin away

  • While waiting for your bus, you may be standing at your spot or sitting at the carpet. You are not wandering around. You are waiting quietly

How to use your chromebook responsibly. (Name 6 points) 

  • Remember that the chromebook belongs to the school - not you. It is a privilege to use it. Be responsible. 

  • Plug in your chromebook in your spot. 

  • Be gentle with your chromebook 

  • Do not walk around with your chromebook open 

  • Only use your chromebook for things that the teacher has asked you to do

  • Never go on social media on your school chromebook

  • Do not download a bunch of extra extensions 

  • If you need help with your chromebook, ask the teacher.

  • Make sure you bring in everything you need from your locker. (Fill your water bottle)

  • Come in quietly 

  • Get a chair

  • Make sure you have a sharpened pencil
