What are the three most important rules for us to follow in the art room?
Be Respectful. try your best. Follow Directions.

Where can you find free draw paper, dot paper, artist cards or coloring pages?
in the red crate in the folders.

Where do you stand in the hall before you come in? What should that look like?
one block away from the wall, facing forwards, hands at your side. This is so we don't lean against the artwork on the wall or the dry erase board.

what does the sticker chart stand for? How many stickers do you need to earn? Mr. Taylor has a smiley face and frown face on the board what does that mean?
the Sticker chart counts how many class periods your class received a compliment. When you get 8, you have a compliment party with art centers. Each table can earn points for following directions quickly and quietly. A point on the frown side means the class was not following directions. If the tables have more points on the smile side we get our sticker.

When is a good time to use the restroom? How can you ask?
A good time is before or after class. If it's an emergency, wait until Mr. Taylor is done teaching. Ask by raising your hand with crossed fingers.

What is the first thing you do when you get paper to work on?
Write your name on it in the bottom right hand corner.

A supply box will be on each table when you walk in. What will be inside and what is the procedure for the box?
pencils, erasers, sometimes sharpeners. You shouldn't open it until you have paper or when Mr. Taylor says to.

How do we enter the art room? What does that look like?
We walk in silently. Without hugging, high fiving, or telling stories. We can smile, wave or tell Mr. Taylor how we are feeling by showing a number on our hands.

Name three things you can do that will help your class receive their sticker for the day
Sitting silently during instruction time. Following directions working quietly talking to neighbors at your own table during work time. cleaning up quickly and quietly, sitting silently waiting to be lined up.

Do you have to ask to get a kleenex? Where are they?
No. The box will be by Mr. Taylor's desk.

Who will pass out supplies each class and where do we look to find out?
the table of the week will pass out supplies. We can look at the board and find the slip of colored paper.

When you sit down in your assigned seats should you be talking quietly?
No, you should be silent when you enter the room and wait for Mr. Taylor to begin class.

What happens if you are not following directions, and distracting the learning of others?
After one warning you will be asked to work in the safe seat, silently. If you have already been to the safe seat you will be asked to leave the class and work in a buddy room. If you continue to have trouble you will go to focus or the principal's office.

How do I get your attention while you are working and talking?
Voices off in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, or Benton...and you say Bobcats, in a normal voice, not loud, repeating it the way Mr. Taylor says it.

When is it not a good time to ask to go to the bathroom?
During teaching time.

What can you do when you are finished?
Check with Mr. Taylor to see if you are done, then put away work, check your folder for other unfinished projects, then find something to do from the "I'm done poster."

How do we line up to leave?
Silently. Mr. Taylor will line you up by table colors. facing forward not leaning on tables or cabinets

What is a reward that Mr. Taylor may give you during class?
skittles, sticker, or something from treasure box.

How is your art graded?
Your art is graded on two things. Did you understand the project and what we learned about and also, did you demonstrate making a complete artwork. You also receive a grade on your behavior in art and if you try your best.

If someone is called on what is expected of everyone else?
Everyone else should be respectful and listen to the student who has been called on.

What do you do if you have a comment or question?
Raise your hand, don't blurt out and wait for Mr. Taylor to call on you.

Each table needs to be cleaned up and silent before they line up. Where do the following supplies go? pencils crayons paint brushes glue bottles
pencils: in the box on table with lid on it crayons: in baskets on counter by the windows paint brushes: in cup of water on the sink counter. leave brushes in cups for helper to clean them glue bottles: standing up in the baskets on the counter by the window

What happens if the stop light turns yellow or red?
If it turns yellow that is a warning to you and you don't need to alert Mr. Taylor. If it turns red we put our heads down. Twice, no sticker and our heads stay down.

What should everyone do in the following situations: 1. Can you get out of your seat if you have a question? 2. Who picks up the supplies? 3. Can you go to the sink and get a sponge or wash your hands? 4. Where should you pick up trash at the end of class?
1. No, raise your hand. Mr. Taylor may ask you to come to his desk. 2. The table of the week. 3. Not unless Mr. Taylor tells your table to. 4. Pick up trash under your table not crawling around the room.
