Why do we need to have a low volume during our days at school?
To allow our classmates to listen and work without distractions, to respect Mr. Rolling and the grade 5 students so they can listen and learn, to make it a comfortable environment to be in
Why is listening to the teacher so important?
To learn new concepts, to develop skills, to be able to follow directions

Partner work, group work, some independent work (art)
What should be on your desk when you are leaving the classroom for gym/music, recess, or home time?
Water bottle / nothing
Where should shoes be kept when they aren't being worn?
Under your hook against the wall
Why is it important to worry about ourselves and not get involved in other peoples' business?
We are in control of our own actions, not other peoples'. Unless there is a safety or bullying concern, students need to MYOB!
What happens if you don't listen?
Miss information, not understand something, get into trouble

Free time, speaking in front of the class, outside
Why should your work space be kept tidy?
Keep organized, more space to work, less likely to lose supplies, respectful to your table group
Why is it important to keep your locker area clean?
Why is it important to have activities that we work alone and some activities that we work with others?
Working alone develops independent working skills, and working together develops team building skills and conflict resolution skills
Why is it important for teachers to listen to kids?
To hear their concerns, to help kids understand, to learn from them

What happens if you don't keep your desk tidy?
Might have to sit by yourself, miss Fun Friday
Where should indoor shoes go at the end of the day?
Hanging on your hooks, inside locker if you have one
What is respect? Why do we want this in our classroom?
Showing care for others and doing our best to be supportive and understanding to everyone around us. We all want to feel welcome and included.
If we show respect, we will get respect in return!
What would our school days be like if nobody listened and did whatever they wanted?
It would be loud, hard to get work done, and it wouldn't feel like a safe and caring environment
