A patient comes in as a walk-in for STD and has never been seen in this type of clinic. The patient states they want to be seen because they received a card stating they were an STD contact. What would you do?

At what age can a patient receive a Shingles vaccine?
What is 50? (Transfer to intake if they state they have a weakened immune system and will need further evaluation.)
A patient comes into the Mooresville location for a walk in lab service on a Wednesday and did not bring a doctors order, but hands you a long list of labs they are requesting. What would you do?
What is consult with the lab tech to see if the labs require a doctors order and continue check in process if able? (If the labs require a doctors order, let the patient know and reschedule when they can provide the order.)
A Medicaid dental patient comes in and does not have their copay today. What do you do?
What is add their copay into Dentrix to pay at a later date and continue with the eligibility process without payment?
A current Family planning patient calls to schedule her Depo injection. You check the provider notes and count that it has been 13 weeks and 7 days since her last depo. You schedule her for this appointment type.
What is a Problem Visit?
A lady brings in a child for their NEW patient appointment and during check-in you realize she is the child's aunt, not a parent. What would you do?
What is verify if the aunt is the child's legal guardian and request paperwork for confirmation? (If she is not, let her know a parent will need to be present for the child's first appointment, and that the parent can sign permission for her to bring child to future appointments).
You are collecting a payment for a private pay patient who is receiving a TB Skin Test, Hep A, Polio, and a Flu vaccine and you notice the admin fees are not marked on the routing sheet. How many additional admin fees do you charge (90472)?
What is one? (Hep A and Polio are the only two tied to admin fees in this case. A 90471 and a 90472 would need to be charged to the patient).
You are checking in a patient for a college physical and they hand you their Medicaid card. What do you do?

A patient walks in to the Statesville location and requests a Hep A and Hep B vaccine. You ask the patient if they have insurance and they hand you both a Medicare card and a Medicaid Amerihealth card, but requests that we bill the vaccine to Medicaid. What would you do?
What is patient will need to be routed as private pay if elects to pay out of pocket or can go to an in-network provider for the vaccine? (Medicare is primary in this situation. Follow the IMM flow chart.)
An adult patient walks in requesting a work physical, immunizations, and a TB Skin Test. He hands you his Cigna card and you are noticing that the insurance is not verifying in CureMD and that Cigna is showing that it is third party. What do you do?
What is consult with insurance clerk to make sure this is third party and let patient know they will need to pay out of pocket for all services? (We may try to bill Cigna for immunizations and TB Skin Test. If Cigna pays, patient will receive a refund for services.)
