What are the Hours of Operation?

Monday - Friday

8:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Are open-toed shoes allowed in the program?

No. It is not safe to have open-toed shoes on in the program.

What are the 2 types of pay rates for the work available for clients?

Hourly-rated jobs and Piece-rated jobs.

How long are lunches and breaks for clients?

Lunch is 30 minutes and break is 20 minutes.

What do we do if a client is suspected of having a communicable disease?

Let the Program Specialist know and they will contact the family/staff.

Should clients/families call to let us know that a client is not coming to program?

Yes, if a client is not able to attend work, we should be notified. The same as if the clients were to have a job in the community.

Are shorts allowed in the program?

Yes, they need to be an appropriate length, like walking shorts.

When do clients receive paychecks?

The same day as the other employees at Milestone. Every other Friday.

What type of lunch do we encourage everyone to bring to the program and why?

A cold lunch, we have opportunities to go into the community and do not always have a microwave available to heat our lunches. Also there are only 2 microwaves in the lunchroom and if a lot of people need to use them, then some might not have much time left to eat.

Who should questions or concerns about a client's programming, participation or treatment go to?

Program Specialists are the ones that will discuss concerns or questions about a client's programming, participation or treatment.

Where would you look to see if Milestone was closed due to adverse weather conditions?

WTAE is where the announcements would be made.

Are tank tops or sleeveless tops allowed in the program?

No. We all need to be dressed appropriately for work.

Are clients covered by Worker's Compensation?

Yes, Milestone Centers carries insurance to protect anyone that is hurt on the job.

Why should we only give utensils to clients if needed for their main meal, like soup?  

We are helping to teach the clients to be responsible for their lunches, like they would need to do if they had a job in the community. We supply utensils for the main part of lunch only because if the client does not get to eat it is neglect.

If a client, family, guardian, residential staff, or other team member feels a concern has not been resolved who should they contact to file a formal complaint? 

The Program Supervisor or Program Director.

Are shirts with logos and writing allowed in the program?

Yes, but we need to monitor for appropriateness.

What is the reason for Payday Meetings? 

They are used as an opportunity for clients to ask questions or bring up topics to discuss. We will be looking to resume payday meetings when safe to do so.

What do we do if a client forgets their lunch?

Talk to the Program Specialist, who will call home to see if a lunch can be dropped off.

Who implements the client's ISP, goal plans, and SEEP (Social, Emotional, Environmental Plans)?

Program Specialists, Floor Supervisors and Program Aides. Anybody providing services to the clients.

What is the expected average absenteeism for a client for the year? 

Two weeks, this would include sick days, appointments and vacations.

Give examples of inappropriate logos or sayings that we should refrain from wearing to work.

Alcohol related. Sexual content. Anything that may be offensive to clients or other staff. Political content.

Are Federal, State, and Social Security taxes deducted from client paychecks?

Yes.

Does the Program supply utensils to staff? 

No. The utensils are to be given to clients only if they need them for their main lunch.

Why are Program Aides assigned to groups? 

To provide extra support to the Floor Supervisor and to those clients within the group. Program Aides will run groups in the absence of a Floor Supervisor.
