Is it necessary to turn the power off before docking the unit?
No.
After one minute the screen goes blank but the power remains on, when removed from the docking station a green ready lamp with show.
What is best practice when labeling any POCT/Vaccine before entering a patient room?
Zebra printer label is the best practice because it has all the patient information needed (Name/DOB/MRN)
Until what age do we take rectal temperature?
rectal temperature is to be taken from 0-3 months
Where should you look to make sure patients are up to date on vaccines?

A vaccine counseling charge is only ordered by a provider after they have gone in the room to discuss vaccines with the parent/guardian
What gets thrown away in the Pharmaceutical Waste container?
All unused/expired meds
Inhalers, Silver Nitrate swabs and other expired medications drugs have their own black box and should be separated.
What should you do with the unit between patients?
Clean with alcohol wipe between each use and place back onto dock.
What should be labeled?
Trays, urine cups, culture tubes, any specimen being sent out, test tubes (strep/RSV), ABBOTT machines

How often are light check procedures done?
Daily
When throwing away unused labels and/or labeled specimens, what should you make sure you do?
Labels containing PHI must be blacked out with a marker prior to disposal.
