Normal age related changes to this system requires the NA to offer frequent trips to the bathroom.
What is the urinary system?
Muscles decrease in size.
What is atrophy?
System made up of the trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
What is the respiratory system?
Condition that causes excessive thirst, extreme hunger, and frequent urination.
What is diabetes?
NA should reposition the resident every 2 hours with this injury/condition.
What is a spinal cord injury?
The normal age related change in this system in females causes a loss of calcium.
What is the reproductive system?
The condition in which all of the body systems are working their best.
What is homeostasis?
The system that protects the body from disease through specific and nonspecific immunity.
What is the immune system?
Residents with this condition are usually on medication that make them urinate more often.
What is CHF or congestive heart failure?
NA should prevent falls for a resident with this condition.
What is MS or multiple sclerosis?
The system provides movement of body parts. A normal age related change to this system causes muscles to weakness and lose tone.
What is the musculoskeletal system?
Bones lose density and break easily.
What is osteoporosis?
System that supplies food, oxygen, and hormones to cells.
What is the circulatory system?
An autoimmune illness (the body's immune system attacks normal tissue) that causes joints to become red, swollen, and very painful.
What is RA or rheumatoid arthritis?
NA should observe the feet regularly for signs of irritation on a resident with this condition.
What is diabetes?
Hypertension (consistent BP measurement of 130/80 or higher) may be caused by the normal age related changes to this system that causes blood vessels to narrow.
