What is the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act? This law has two main provisions: anti-bribery and maintaining accurate books records. It prohibits bribery (corrupt payment of money or anything of value – such as gifts, excessive travel & entertainment expenses, future employment promises, charitable contributions and/or confidential information) of non-U.S. Government Officials in order to obtain business.

What is violence? This is largely preventable. Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives and incendiary devices are forbidden on company property. Acts or threats of violence are not tolerated. Abusive, intimidating or hostile words and actions often precede more serious violent behavior and should be reported immediately to your supervisor, a Human Resources Representative, the Ethics & Compliance Group or the Code Connection Hotline.

What is nominal value? This excludes anything that could be considered lavish, extravagant or frequent. In general, employees may not accept gifts worth $50 or more from anyone who has or seeks a business relationship with Oshkosh Corporation.

What are illicit drugs? Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol can create serious safety hazards and negative affect job performance. Employees are encouraged to use their local Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to address issues with alcohol or drug abuse before it affects work performance. The EAP is a confidential resource to help employees who are facing challenges with substance abuse or other stresses that may affect their work life.

All issues are handled confidentially to the maximum degree consistent with the need to investigate and to comply with other legal obligations.

What is Insider Trading? At times you may know important information about our company, a vendor or a competitor which has not been released to the public. You must hold such “material non-public information” in strict confidence. Don’t mention a development at the company while talking about your job to a community group. Don’t share confidential information with family members. Don’t discuss it with co-workers while having lunch at a restaurant. Even if what you say does not violate laws, it can cast the Company, and all of us, in a negative light.
