Describe 3 similarities and 3 differences between the Korean and Vietnam wars

Similar - both happened in Asia close to communist China and the USSR and are proxy wars between the 2 same countries, both were split into north and south during the conflict, both wanted to unite a nation under one ideology, both were not popular amongst the American public - both used a draft

Different - Korean was much shorter, Vietnam is very long. Korea ended with 2 separate nations, Vietnam did not. Vietnam is still communist today, the US pulled out with little success. Fighting was harder in Vietnam. More people died in the Vietnam war. Different presidencies (Korea is Truman and Eisenhower, Vietnam was 4 presidents: Eisenhower through Nixon)

Why was the dropping of the Atom Bomb during WW2 a pivotal moment in the start of the Cold War?

Everyone began to fear nuclear war. The development of more nuclear missiles by both sides was a direct reaction to the terror that was seen in Japan after the war. War as it had existed in the past in history changed forever.
