What is the difference between intra-mural, club, and Division 1/2/3 athletics?

Intramural sports are played among students internally within a college...groups of students make teams - primarily for recreational purposes.
Club team sports are not sanctioned by the NCAA, but normally are travel teams that will play other colleges. They're normally formed by students and sponsored by the university, but they don't compete on the NCAA level.
