Matriculate
A place on campus that is a one stop shop for your needs as a student and offers places to study, hang out and eat. (Generally where you find the school bookstore)

Your main course of study, most classes that you take will be on this topic.

Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
The system that schools use in order to determine your grade in a course. Most colleges and universities use a 100 point one.
Grading Scale
When you have an outstanding balance on your account. Keeps you from signing up for your classes for the next semester.
Registration Hold (Hold)
Someone assigned to a student to help them plan their classes and switch their major.
Academic Advisor
Some students choose to take on an additional field of study where you take less classes to achieve it.
Minor
Money that you borrow that you need to pay back and does not accrue interest.
Subsidized Loan
An option that allows you to take a class without receiving a letter grade.
Pass/No Pass

Class or classes that you must take in order to sign up for a more advanced course.
Prerequisite
A student (generally a little older) who lives on your dorm floor and is there to help you and guide you if you need it!
Resident Advisor (RA)
Core courses in basic areas of knowledge that a college would like you to learn about. They are required to earn your degree.
General Education
Money that you don't have to pay back, including scholarships and grants!
Gift aid
The period of time where you can change your academic schedule without any sort of penalty.
Add/Drop Period
Something you are required to get from the professor the subject's department when you want to register for a class that is full or requires special access.
Permission Number
The office that handles student records, such as transcripts. You'll need to contact them if you're applying to grad school or a job!
Registrar
An undergraduate academic degree awarded by colleges upon completion of a course of study.

Total Cost of Attendance
When you remove yourself from a class after the deadline to leave. You do not receive a penalty, but you will have to pay outstanding charges to the school and receive a W.
Withdrawal
Term used to indicate that a student is not making the progress the institution requires for graduation. If it continues, a student may not be allowed to continue at the school.
Academic Probation
The office on a college campus where you pay your bills!
Bursar
A continuation of study after an undergraduate degree. Required for some fields and generally takes about 2 years.

The amount, after financial aid is applied, that you will be expected to pay to start school
