What FAR Part deals with the Certification of Air Carriers and Commercial Operators?
FAR Part 119
What kind of engine does your aircraft have? (LHAND)
Bonus points 2x if you can tell me how ignition is provided.
Lycoming 4 cylinder O-360 engine rated at 180 horsepower. Carbureted engines.
Horizontally opposed - Pistons oppose each other. (more compact)
Air cooled
Normally aspirated - Utilizes outside conditions for performance
Direct drive - Crankshaft is directly connected to prop.
Exceeding this will induce a stall
Critical Angle of Attack
Which way does the wind blow with a high pressure system?
OCD
What type of medical do you need to exercise your Commercial Privileges? How long is it good for?
Second: 12 months < 40

Shifting the CG forward will result in what?
More Stable worse performance.
Common weather along a cold front
Squall Lines
Part 91.205 O2 Requirements
12500-14,000ft MSL =
Oxygen is required for the pilot if flying for more than 30 minutes.
Oxygen is recommended for passengers at altitudes in this range but is not mandatory unless the flight exceeds 30 minutes.
14,000+ =
Oxygen is required for both the pilot and passengers.
Oxygen must be used continuously by the pilot and provided for passengers for the duration of the flight at altitudes above this level.
15000+ = Oxygen is required for all persons on board regardless of the duration of the flight.
What is Common Carriage?
Holding out of a willingness to transport persons or property from place to place for compensation?
Tell me about our electrical system. How do you know if we have an alternator failure?
Bonus 2x - What items would not work if we lost our battery?
We have a 28 volt DC electrical system with a 24 volt battery and a 70 amp engine driven alternator.
A failure - Alternator inop on annuciator, 0 or negative reading on ammeter, try turning off a light and seeing if the reading changes, turn off and back on the alternator, check for popped circuit breakers.
Standby attitude indicator , the starter , electric fuel pump , electric primer , stall warning horn , the ammeter , the annunciator panel , the pitot heat , the G500 , the g430s , radios, landing/strobe/nav lights, fan, heat, and fuel indicators.
For some pa-28-181, we wouldn't be able to see our 3 in the green. (oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure)
Difference between stability and maneuverability
Stability = tendency for aircraft to return to original attitude.
Maneuverability = Capability to make the aircraft move.
Fog is created by a
Low Dew point and temperature spread
What are the 3 different types of Oxygen Systems?
Continuous flow - Oxygen flows continuously, regardless of breathing through nasal cannula or mask. Common in GA under 25,000ft.
Diluter demand - Oxygen is delivered only when the user inhales. Common in airliners and military. Requires a tight fit mask and used above 12,500.
Pressure demand - Oxygen is delivered at a higher pressure, adjusting for altitude. Used in aircraft flying above 40,000ft. Requires special mask type.
An aircraft owner approaches you and asks you to fly him to Galveston with his aircraft. Is this legal?
Yes, you're providing the services of your certificate and not carriage.

What are the four different types of hypoxia?
Hypemic - Caused by a reduction in the blood’s ability to carry oxygen (anemia or carbon monoxide poisoning).
Histotoxic - Caused by the body’s inability to use oxygen effectively due to toxins or poisoning.
Stagnant - Caused by inadequate blood circulation, often due to heart failure or extreme G-forces.
Hypoxic - Caused by reduced oxygen availability at high altitudes
