Learning
Grades are often made up of fewer assignments, and initial low grades may keep you form earning high course grades at the end of the semester.
Grades
The limited time at the start of a term when you can freely add or drop courses without penalty.
Add/Drop Period
A policy that describes the attendance and absence expectations for a class.
Attendance Policy
Specific hours the professor is in the office to meet with students.
Office Hours
Tests are fewer and cover more material than in high school. If you read all the assigned material, took good notes in class, and spent time practicing effective study techniques, you should be able to answer all the questions.
Tests and Exams
A course or requirement you must complete before enrolling in a more advanced course.
Prerequisites
Using someone's words, images, or ideas as your own, without proper attribution.
Plagiarism
The process of using learning strategies to understand and recall information.
Study
A comprehensive assessment that is given at the end of a term.
Final Exam
A block on your student account that prevents you from registering for or modifying courses until the hold is cleared.
Registration Hold
A secondary field of study, with fewer required courses than a major.
