What is At-Home Call
The supervising physician is physically present with the resident during key portions of the patient interaction

This requires continuous identification of vulnerabilities and willingness to transparently deal with this
What is a Culture of Safety
This group must include 3 members of program faculty, at least one of who is core faculty
What is Clinical Competency Committee
This is based on PGY level, patient safety, resident ability, severity and complexity of patient illness/condition, and available support services.
What is Clinical Responsibilities
PGY1 residents are not permitted to participate in this duty hour type.
What is Moonlighting
This role should service in a supervisory role to junior residents in recognition of progress toward independence, based on needs to each patient and skills of the individual trainee.
Who is senior residents or fellows
This includes reporting, investigation, follow-up on near misses and unsafe conditions
What is Patient Safety Events
Residents must demonstrate the ability to investigate and evaluation their care of patients, to appraise and assimilate scientific evidence and to continuously improve patient care based on constant self-evaluation and lifelong learning
What is Practice-Based Learning and Improvement
Under this term, programs must ensure that residents are competent in communicating with team members in the hand-off process
What is Transitions of Care
This rule exception should not be used for care of new patients and must occur within the context of the 80-hour limit, when averaged over four weeks.
What is 24+4. Up to four hours of additional time may be used for activities related to patient safety.
The supervising physician is available to provide review of procedures/encounters with feedback provided after care is delivered

This refers to the access to data and how it is essential to prioritizing activities for care improvement and evaluating success of improvement efforts.

This term refers to when residents group days off like a consecutive Saturday and Sundsy free from work.

This duty hour type must occur within the context of the 80hr and one-day-off-in-seven requirements.

This should be enhanced based on factors such as patient safety, complexity, acuity, urgency, risk of serious safety events, and other pertinent variables

These roles must know their responsibilities in reporting patient safety events and unsafe conditions at the clinical site, including how to report such events
Who is residents, fellows, faculty, and other clinical staff members
In this process, the program must obtain verification of previous educational experiences and a summative competency-based performance evaluation prior to acceptance of a transferring resident
What is Resident Transfer
This refers to the use of strategic napping, use of caffeine, time management to sleep off-duty, and self-monitoring perrformance.
Based on sound educational rationale, the RC may grant this value/amount for rotation-specific exceptions
Up to 10 percept of a maximum of 88 hours
This should be sufficient enough to access the knowledge and skills of each resident

This is intended to describe structured programming developed for the purpose of enhancing transference of knowledge, skill and behavior from the educator ro the learner. This may occur in a variety of configurations and uses internal and/or external resources.
What is Faculty Development
Under this section, residents should participate without fear of negative consequences when unable to provide clinical work. The program shoudl allow an appropriate length of absence.
