What did we learn from research regarding babies and the stuffed animals they prefer?
Humans seem to have an instinctive drive to define who is inside and outside of our group. Even when the differences between groups are superficial, babies liked to see stuffed animals in their group treated well and liked to see stuffed animals in the other group treated badly.
*This ties back to our evolutionary instinct to seek small groups.

Basketball tournament that included kids from 3 groups. All groups had historical tension between them. The condition of the tournament was that kids had to play on teams with kids from other groups. Results showed that the experience of being teammates with outgroup kids gave them a more positive impression of them because they now saw them as a part of their in-group.
