This is one common reason that an application could say that an Ontario driver's license # input is "invalid"

If the applicant's license is in Ontario, it must be the case that the first character of the applicant's last name must match the first character of their driver's license. Our application form checks to ensure that this is the case.

Can members contest parking tickets issued to Communauto vehicles with the parking authority?

No! Parking, red light and speeding camera tickets are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle, NOT the driver, so the member is not authorized to contest the ticket on their own! Communauto is the sole responsible party who can choose to contest a ticket.

These are good troubleshooting tips for resolving the following error message which appears when an applicant is entering their credit card information:

"Error msg : Credit card info not valid - AVS : NO_MATCH - CVV : MATCH"

Since the applicant's credit card does not match their address when we run an "Address Verification Check", the applicant should update their address:

1 - the applicant should try an old address if they moved in the last ~5 years just in case our database of addresses is outdated

2- the applicant should try to format their address in our application to conform to what they see on their online bank statement

Can a member book a FLEX car in one city and return it to another city in which we operate a FLEX service?

If yes, where?
If no, why not?

A member must return a FLEX car to the city to which the car is assigned (Toronto FLEX to Toronto, Hamilton FLEX to Hamilton).

However, Ottawa and Gatineau are considered one FLEX zone together and can be used interchangeably. The same is the case for Halifax and Dartmouth.

Can a member pay a parking ticket to the parking authority directly to avoid paying our administrative fee?

If no, why not?
If yes, in what circumstances can this occur?

If a member finds the ticket shortly after it has been issued (and we know that Communauto has not yet received the electronic copy) then yes, the member may pay it directly and send proof of payment via contact form to avoid double-billing and avoid the admin fee.
If we have notified the member of the ticket via GCU, then the ticket has already been paid and the member cannot pay the ticket to the issuer directly.
