Wear bring or reflective clothing, stay on the sidewalks and don't walk in the street, watch out for things that may be easy to trip over.

Ask the owner if you can pet their dog and respect their answer or just look at how cute the dog is and carry on with your day. Do not pet the dog without asking. (check the vibe, the owner may not want to interact!)
