This type of award guideline allows managers to select performance ratings during the recommendation process.
What is rating scale
This form of budgeting in the event setup has Workforce Now place the responsibility for determining how much each manager has to allocate to employees directly on the practitioner. This means they must work from the highest managers on down to the first level managers to fill in how many dollars each one gets.
What is Top Down
Option contained in the action arrow of Process > Talent > Compensation Dashboard. Allows the user to actually view the event that is in progress. This particular worksheet may only be accessed by one practitioner or support user at one time.

This option of the worksheet appears when an event is fully submitted, finalized, and approved by any workflow.
What is process payroll
This is the period of time in the setup which the practitioner would like managers to log into the product and make their changes or awards to employees.
What is the recommendation period
This type of review guideline means that neither a Performance Plan or a Rating scale is used to attempt to instruct the manager on what range of numbers should be used for each employee. They still work within their budget but they may give any employee any amount of money without repercussion.
What is no guidelines
This form of budgeting in the event setup has Workforce Now take care of determining how much money each subordinate and high level manager has to use on employees by taking each employee and taking ether A. the target bonus percent they entered in the setup B. another percentage or C. a raw dollar amount for each employee.
What is bottom up
This option allows the practitioner or higher up manager to take a look at the worksheet as if they were that user. This can be useful for viewing the employee recommendations from their perspective, and it also allows a practitioner or senior manager to emulate a subordinate manager and take care of their worksheet in place of them.
What is emulate
Option to see all comp event details together in Excel format.
What is export worksheet
With base pay events, this is the amount that will be given to an employee when an awarded amount pushes their salary over their pay grade.

The definition of how well the employee is paid in relation to the mid-point of their paygrade.
What is Compa-ratio
This type of budgeting is just that...no budget at all. This is generally not recommended as it allows managers to award as much as they want.
Provides a list of who may be emulating someone else and allows the practitioner to stop that emulation. Worksheets can only be emulated by one person at a time. When emulating, you should always remember to stop emulating when finished.

Similar to benefits statements, or confirmation statements, the compensation management module can allow the practitioner to generate notices to send to employees which can detail things like earnings info pre and post earnings event.

This field on the guideline rewards section of the setup wizard defines where the default value will be on an employee of a certain rating when they are selected in the worksheet.

Users with this security profile can assign budgeting in the event setup.
Who are practitioners
This tool allows a practitioner to take an event that is in progress, and add a performance rating (if used) for each employee. ADP also supplies the template.
What is import performance ratings
This option pre-populates content to be used when generating compensation notices. These are setup under Setup>HR&Talent.
What are compensation notice templates
This field in the setup defines the point in time by which the compensation dashboard event will disregard any employee changes after that period.
What is the cutoff date
This term is used to refer to when an event's reward depends on the performance rating given to the employee. It allows the practitioner to show the manager a range (shown on a slider bar) of amounts that they can award for each rating, and their recommended, and absolute high or low end amounts for the rating.

When a manager is excluded from an event, their portion of the budget goes to this person

This action arrow option simply takes most of the settings of one worksheet and pre-loads them into the new setup wizard for a separate event. It should be noted though that not all fields copy over such as the dates (recommendation period, review period, cut off date, etc).
