Why is it important for evaluators to both sign and date their reports?
It is required that we have documented evidence that reports were both ready and available at least two full business days in advance of the meeting.
Is a phone call or email sufficient notice to a parent? If so under what conditions?
-There must documented evidence that the parent was provided of the notice of the meeting (email/ communication log) to include:
-time
-date
-location
-purpose
-all participants
- A statement that parent can bring others of their choice.

What language is embedded into the correct notice for a Review of Existing Data Meeting?
You are invited to attend a meeting for the purpose of reviewing your child’s educational progress. Your participation in this meeting is an important part of your child’s education, and we strongly encourage you to attend.
We will review a referral to the Student Education Committee (SEC), to include teacher reports, educational records, and any additional information you can provide. The team may include the school psychologist, school social worker, educational evaluator, teacher, speech/language pathologist administrative designee, reading specialist, nurse, counselor, and others as appropriate.
At what age is it required that a student be consulted or present at their annual IEP meeting?
If they are turning 14 within the duration of the IEP.
What date needs to be changed each time the SEC team meets to review data? Assuming the team closed the loop by documenting that they did not suspect a disability.

What Language is embedded into the correct Eligibility meeting notice?
You are invited to attend a meeting that has been scheduled for the above student. Your participation and attendance at the meeting are very important.
You or Stafford County Public Schools may invite other individuals to the meeting who have knowledge or expertise about the student. If you are bringing other individuals to the meeting, please let us know in advance. For eligibility, a copy of reports will be available two (2) business days prior to the meeting, at the student’s school.
Johnny is a student who receives Speech and a related service. The IEP team is amending the IEP to discuss fine motor concerns of the parent. Is the Speech and Language Pathologist a required IEP team member?
No. The speech path does not need to be listed on the notice, as their input is not required for the topic being discussed.
If they are listed on the notice, they must also
-Be listed on the front page as consulted
-Provide written input prior to the meeting
and parent must initial consent.
