Irradiated RBC go through gamma ray exposure to eliminate and prevent proliferation of t-lymphocytes which is the direct cause of transfusion associated graft vs host disease 

Leuko reduction is achieved through filtration, removed majority of WBC, help prevent allergic reactions, HLA alloimmunization, and febrile non hemolytic transfusion reactions.

What is the difference between pooled platelets, concentrated platelets, and apheresis platelets 

Pooled platelets has increased donor exposure because it is made using samples of several donors to make one single unit, it is less expensive and more readily available, but has an increased chances for transfusion reactions. 

Apheresis platelets are made from a single donor through an automated process of donation where other blood components are returned to the donor, it is more expensive and less available but it has a decreased chance of transfusion reactions. 

Concentrated platelets are usually pooled*** plasma is removed which increases the density of the cells
