How do you know what the main character is feeling?
By looking at the words, actions, and illustrations.

Find a sentence in the book that helped you predict what might happen next. What does it tell you?

What is the most important event in the story? Why?
When the main character decided to try again to reach for the chance.

How do text clues and illustrations work together to help you understand the story?
They give information about the plot, character feelings, or what might happen next.
Retell the story in the correct order of events.
The character is given a chance, then the character reaches for the chance and misses, the character gives up and ignores the chance, the main character decides they are going to try to reach for the chance again, they were able to catch the chance.
