What is Talking to the Text? Why would readers use this strategy?

Some examples would be : Questions, Personal Opinions, Personal Connections, Summaries, Fix ups, Feelings and Plans for the future. This can all be found on the Talking to the Text hand out sheet we got in the beginning of the semester.

Why do you think it is important to have a relationship with the teacher, tutor and SSP in our Program?
It is important because we are all a resource you can use to be successful here during your first year of college. The teacher can help with grades and understanding the assignments, the tutor can help with homework and preparing for essays and the SSP can be a guide around campus.

A Run-On sentence occurs when two word groups that can be sentences (independent clauses) stand together without any separation. ex: Charleston Harbor is a fascinating place to visit many historical attractions are there. What is a sentence fragment?
If you Capitalize and Punctuate a word group that cannot be a sentence as if it WERE a sentence. ex: The child rolled over. Then fell asleep. correction: The Child rolled over. Then HE fell asleep. This can be found on page 108 of your TSG.
