What is prayer?
Act of Worship, speaking to God. Asking something of Him or thanking Him for His mercies.
How is God’s name dishonored among us?
false teaching and ungodly living
What do we mean by a Sacrament? (3 parts)
A Sacred Act that is (1) instituted by God himself (2) using visible elements connected with his word (3) gives us the forgiveness of sins
What gives Baptism the power to do all these things?
The Word of God attached to the water.
What is the command that Christ has given his church? (2 things...)
To (1) preach the gospel and (2) administer the Sacraments
Why do we pray? (4 reasons...)
because (1) God commands it (2) God promises to hear us (3) we constantly need his help (4) we want to thank him for his blessings

The Devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh
What is the meaning of the word “baptize?”
To apply water - to wash.
What is the old Adam (old man)?
Our sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve.
Who are to be forgiven?
Christians who are sorry for their sins.
For what may we pray?
anything that honors God and is good for us
Are the troubles we experience a part of God’s will?
He permits trouble with the promise that it will work out for good, But He is not the cause of evil.
How do we know that little children should be baptized? (4 part answer)
They are (1) included in “all nations” (2) Jesus particularly asks for little children to be brought to him (3) little children are also dead in sin (4) Baptism is the means of regeneration.
What is the New Man?
The New Spiritual Life that we have when our sins are forgiven--that desires to honor and glorify God.
Who are not to be forgiven?
Those not sorry for their sins OR don't believe in Jesus.
Does God always answer prayers in the way in which we ask?
God says (1) yes, (2) better, or (3) later
Why does Jesus teach us to pray for our “daily” bread?
So we are CONTENT (Satisfied, not wanting more) and don’t worry about the future
Who can administer Baptism?
Any Christian (Normally, if not in emergency situations, the Spiritual Leader/Pastor should do the Baptism).
What does "Repentance" mean?
Acknowledging our sins and seeking/trusting in God’s grace.
To whom has Christ given the Office of the Keys?
To every Christian
With whom may we pray?
With those who hold to and confess the truth
How should we act toward those who sin against us?
We should forgive them from our hearts (that we don't hold any resentment or bitterness against them) even if they aren’t sorry and don’t apologize to us. (Before God, to be forgiven the must first repent...)
What are the blessings of Baptism? (3 things)
forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation
What should parents and the church do, that their children may be kept in the grace of their Baptism? (3 things...)
Pray for them, teach them, and set a good example
How do Christians publicly administer the Office of the Keys?
Through their Pastors (in a full and complete way) and through other Called Workers (i.e. Christian School Teachers, Staff Ministers, Professors, etc.)(in a limited kind of way).
