Answer speaker 1 questions without going on and on. Keep the response short so speaker 1 does not lose interest in the conversation

To show the speaker you care about the topic they are talking about

Interrupting a speaker is frustrating to them. We need to let them share their thoughts before you can share your own thoughts.
