During the Divine Liturgy, just before the Orthodox Creed, why does the deacon announce “In the wisdom of God, let us attend...”?

In the early church, those who were catechumens and not yet baptized into the faith were required to leave before the recitation of the Creed.  Therefore, this cry from the deacon is a call for us in attendance to focus and remember that we are now ascending into Heaven, to repent, and to prepare to receive Christ's Body and Blood.
