What is a severe weather watch is when a the weather condition is possible, but no immediate cause for concern and a severe weather warning is when the weather condition is imminent. 

When a severe weather watch has been issued, the weather condition is possible, but not necessarily likely, and typically spans over a large geographical area for a long period of time. A severe weather warning means that the specific weather condition is actually occurring or is imminent. These warnings span over small, and often very detailed area for small amounts of time.

What makes the bivalent booster different from the original vaccines and when is someone eligible for a bivalent booster? 

What is the bivalent booster protects against the original strain of COVID-19 as well as the omicron variant. A person is eligible for the bivalent booster as long as it has been at least 2 months since their last Covid vaccine. 

  1. The authorized bivalent COVID-19 vaccines, or updated boosters, include an mRNA component of the original strain (which is the monovalent vaccine) to provide an immune response that is broadly protective against COVID-19 and an mRNA component in common between the omicron variant BA.4 and BA.5 lineages to provide better protection against COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant. 
  2. The new booster contains 2 mRNA components of the coronavirus. Half of the vaccine targets the original strain and the other half targets the BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron subvariant lineages.
