What you use when you attempt to make yourself feel better or to help deal with stressors.
Symptoms include: Excessive worry, Overthinking

What does it mean to use "self care"?
To care for your body (going to sleep early, doing your favorite activity, eating your favorite snack, etc)
How do assertive communicators communicate?
Clear about needs and emotions while respectful of others.
What coping skills do you use when you feel sad?
Any (ex. listen to music, do my favorite activity, etc)
What is Impulse Control?
To think before acting, saying, or doing.

What is Anger Management?
A technique that allows you to feel the emotion, but attempts to teach better ways to handle it
What are I-message/ I-feel statements?
I feel *emotion* when you *blank*. *Tell them what you prefer*
Ex: I feel disrespected when you speak in that tone. Will you please speak calmly to me.
What coping skill do you use when you feel angry?
Any (ex. exercise, deep breathing, understanding triggers, going to a calm environment, etc)
What is Emotion Regulation?
To control or balance emotions and behaviors.
Symptoms: Difficulty staying on task, poor impulse control, unregulated
Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Why is journaling helpful?
To track thoughts and allow one to process them from a third perspective, OR to process emotions in order to better understand them

Aggressive, loud, yelling, demanding, etc

Any (ex. talking it out, calling a safe person, self-soothe)
What is a trigger?
Something that effects your mental state (causes distress, or extreme overwhelm)
Symptoms: Fear of humiliation, Excessive worry about other people's thoughts of you

To be aware and present in the moment and in the MIND
How do Passive-Aggressive communicators communicate?
Ignoring, sarcasm, silent treatment.
What is a coping skill you can use when feeling hopeless?
Any (ex. talking it out, avoid triggers, utilize safety plan- if you have one)
What is a Treatment Plan?
What you and your counselor use to keep track of goals and interventions. (Plan for counseling)
Symptoms: Difficulty adjusting or dealing with life transitions.

What Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Technique do I use most? (CBT- Hint:Negative thoughts)
Tracking negative thoughts, then emotions/feelings, then behaviors. Sometimes I feel use "Alfred's Symptom Cycle' to explain how the negative thoughts create a self-destructive pattern.
How do Passive communicators communicate?
Lies about how they feel (often expresses the opposite of how they feel). Agrees with others regardless of personal beliefs.
