Look up, read outloud to us, and tell us how John 14:6 applies to us today.

What does the Book of Mormon explain about why God allows bad things to happen to innocent people?

Alma 60:13

"For the Lord suffereth the righteous to be slain that his justice and judgment may come upon the wicked; therefore ye need not suppose that the righteous are lost because they are slain; but behold, they do enter into the rest of the Lord their God."

Look up Alma 37:35 and briefly share why this is necessary.

"O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God."

Why necessary?

When did the following occur?

- Plan to become like Heavenly Father and receive a body and experience was presented (Abraham 3:24)

- (Abraham 3:27-28) "And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first.

The sooner you do this, the sooner you begin to make your way back and find the peace and joy... If you delay it, you may lose blessings, opportunities, and spiritual guidance.

Repentance

It is a change of mind and heart. It includes turning away from sin and turning to God for forgiveness. It is motivated by love for God and the sincere desire to obey His commandments.

Guess who?

They protected their families, showed great courage, brought encouragement to nephites to regain their lost cities.

Alma 57:27 Now this was the faith of these of whom I have spoken; they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually.

What happens when we lean?

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

The righteous need not fear this or the signs that precede it. The Savior’s said: “Be not troubled, for, when all these things shall come to pass, ye may know that the promises which have been made unto you shall be fulfilled” (D&C 45:35).

Greatly influence your thinking and behavior.

Friends!

As you seek to be a friend to others, do not compromise your standards. If your friends urge you to do things that are wrong, be the one to stand for the right, even if you stand alone. You may need to find other friends who will support you in keeping the commandments. Seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost as you make these choices.

Moroni invites us to read, ponder, and pray to ask God if the Book of Mormon is true in these verses.

Moroni 10:4-5

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

2 Nephi 25:26

Explain what a covenant is (1-2 min)

A covenant is a sacred agreement between God and a person or group of people.

God sets specific conditions, and He promises to bless us as we obey those conditions.

Covenants mark the path back to God.
