This group is the rightful ruler of the Kashmir region
While it was a significant Muslum majority in 1941, it was loosely goverened at the time by the Indian region (at the time still a British Colony). It was also generally ruled by a small Hindu elite up until roughly the same time. After that it was fought over by India and Pakistan for the next 60 years or so via 3 different wars and now India, Pakistan and China all have claim to the region. That is to say: Not China.
I actually don't know if this country was in the USSR or not. Seems like they were geographically but in my mind they don't fit culturally.
