Differences for Infants or children
Unconsciousness......Trouble breathing.....No signs of Life(normal breathing or movement) and, for Children and Infants, no pulse......Severe bleeding .... make to get CONSENT form conscious adult before you begin to give care on conscious adult
CHECKING VICTIM
Partial or complete loss of consciousness caused by a temporary reduction in the supply of blood to the brain?
Fainting
Assesss the scene for danger to yourself, bystanders and the patient.

Qualities of a good first aid provider
1) duty-responsibility to act reasonably based on standard of care
2) breech of duty-failure to act within expected and reasonable standard of care
3) damages- physical or psychological harm created in a noticeable way
4) cause-existence of reasonable cause and effect

Effective first aid providers must be familiar with the basic structure and functions of the human body.
Using the proper medical terms allows you to communicate more effectively with the person and with medical care providers
