Tilt the victim's chin back past the neutral position to open the airway. Look inside for any foreign objects. If there are any, use a finger sweep to remove them.

If you have revived an unconscious victim what should you do next provided there is no head/neck/or spinal injury? Explain all steps.
Put the victim in the recovery position by raising the arm closest to you above the victim's head so their head can rest on it. Gently pull the opposite shoulder and hip towards you so the victim is not on their side. Bend the victim's knees to help steady them.

A victim has collapsed in front of you on the sidewalk while grabbing his chest. You have checked the scene for safety and the victim for consciousness. He is now unconscious and you have put on PPE and requested an AED and first aid kit. What are the next steps?
If the victim is not breathing and there is not pulse start CPR. Use the AED as soon as it arrives and continue until EMS arrives.
Even if you use PPE while treating a victim what should you still do after treating them?
Wash your hands or any exposed skin with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
Check the victim for consciousness by tapping on the shoulders and shouting to get their attention if possible.
How and where do you check for a pulse?
Using your index and middle finger you should check on either side of the trachea and up under chin with a firm push. Or on the thumb side of the wrist at the base of the thumb.
Where should you begin a focused check?
Any area that the victim is complaining about.
You are entering a warehouse and discover multiple victims that appear unconscious. You also smell something unusual and see a chemical spilled on the floor. What are the next steps?
Leave the building immediately. Call 911 or local EMS. Wait for their arrival.
1. Pinch the glove on one hand at the wrist with your other gloved hand.
2. Pull the glove off the first hand and ball it up in your still gloved hand.
3. Use two fingers from your gloveless hand and slip them under the wrist of your gloved hand glove and pull completely off encompassing the first glove.
You have determined the victim to be unconscious, what are the next two steps?
You should tell someone specifically to call 911 or local EMS and then check the victim's ABCs to determine how to care for them.

You walk into your house after school and see the plumber working under the kitchen sink. You also notice a pool of water where the plumber is working. All of a sudden you see that an extension cord with loose and bare wire has come into contact with the water and the plumber. What do you do?
Unplug the source of the electricity without coming into contact with the water or the plumber. If unable to do so, then find the breaker and turn off the electricity to the house. Check the scene for your safety, check for consciousness, call 911 if needed, then care for the victim.
