Explain the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption.
Immaculate Conception: Mary does not have original sin, and was not subject to sin during her life
Assumption: No official declaration if Mary went through human death. It’s assumed that by the power of God, she went directly to Him. Her body was not subject to corruption as human bodies are.

Why is the sign of the cross considered an abbreviation of the Apostles' Creed?
"In the name of the Father" = "I believe in God"
"And of the son" = "in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord"
"And of the Holy Spirit" = "I believe in the Holy Spirit"
What story does the Nicene Creed tell?
It tells the story of salvation: Jesus's birth, death, and resurrection.
Describe the stories of the Passover in Egypt, and the Passover of the New Covenant.
Egypt: God sent 10 plagues upon Egypt one of which was the death of the firstborn; they had to sacrifice a year-old unblemished lamb, spread its blood over their doorsteps, and roast and eat its flesh in a sacred meal that consisted of unleavened bread and wine. In doing so, their homes would be passed over that night and the firstborn spared.
New Covenant: We are all enslaved by sin and death, but God sent Jesus, the lamb of God, to sacrifice himself for us, and free us. We participate in this sacrifice as we receive the Eucharist at Mass.

Explain what original sin and the fall of man are.
Original sin: the idea of sin has existed since the fall of man (or since Adam and Eve)
The fall of man: the descent of humanity from a state of innocence to sin (Adam and Eve eating the apple)
Explain how Mary is the Mother of Jesus, and Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Mother of Jesus: The Angel Gabriel came to Mary, to tell her that she will bear the Son of God.
Queen of Heaven and Earth: She is the Mother of Jesus, who is King of kings. She offers abiding mercy and compassion, interceding on behalf of all of God’s children.
How do faith and reason work together?
God revealed himself through faith, and granted us with the ability to use reason to understand faith.
How do the 3 parts of the Holy Trinity work together?
The Father is the Creator, Jesus was sent to Earth to implement the Father's plan, and the Holy Spirit is there to help guide us towards God's work.
