What is the Doctrine of Vocation? Martin Luther claimed that all valid vocations are gifts from God to us, for the sake of us serving our fellow man. Luther once commented that God is milking the cow through the farmer. This doctrine also emphasized the priesthood of all believers, which means that we all have direct access to God through the work of Jesus and the Spirit. There is no distinction between those working in the church and those who have vocations outside of the church.
In his teachings, Jesus often referenced "the Law" which are the first five books of both Hebrew and Christian Bibles, and is called this.
