What is a way you can grow closer to Christ in your own life?
Attend weekend service, go to your age's class (423, Renovate, middle ground), read the bible, serve, pray, etc
When you are serving, should you play with the kids and help with activities?
YES!! Please! We ESPECIALLY want you to help with the table activities!
During dropoff and pickup time, what do we expect CREW to be doing?
Greeting kids, playing with them, helping them feel comfortable in the classroom
DO NOT be standing around please :)
What is the oldest grade in the Children's Minsitry?
6th Grade
Can CREW do check-out in the rooms? (collecting stickers?)
NO! This must be done by an adult!
How should you greet the kids in the classroom?
With love and kindness! Be excited to see them! Learn their name!
When serving, if a kid needs to use the bathroom should you take them to the bathroom?
NO! CREW are not allowed to take kids to the bathroom. An adult has to be the one to do this.
What do we expect CREW to do if they cannot serve when they are scheduled?
Contact a staff person (Casey, Katie, Brittney)
What are the times of all 3 services?
Saturday 5:30pm, Sunday 9:15am, Sunday 11:00am
If you are not fulfilling expectations while serving on multiple occassions, what might happen?
You can be sent to your classroom/church, talk to a staff member, email to parents, and/or asked to not serve.
How can you help show God to the kids?
Help with their activities, help with remember verse, answer questions, read the bible/books in the class with them, etc
When serving, if a kid wants to be held and is sad, should you pick them up?
NO! CREW are not allowed to pick kids up and hold them. Only adults can do this
What do we expect CREW to do if they have a friend who wants to serve?
*if you show up with a friend the morning of serving without telling us, then your friend cannot serve with you.
Where do you go to get your sticker for serving?
The check-in desk in the lobby
Should you take pictures of the kids?
No! Please do not take pictures of the kids in the rooms. only adults are allowed to do this
If two kids are upset or arguing, how should you handle that with a Christ-Like attitude?
Ask an adult for help, lovingly talk to both of them about what is happening, listen to them, encourage apologies.
When serving, most rooms have lessons! Are the kids allowed to sit in your lap?
NO! Kids are not allowed to sit in the laps of CREW. Even if its your little cousin. If a kid asks to sit in your lap, simply encourage them to sit next to you on the floor!
How early should you arrive to serve?
30 minutes early!
Where do you go to get snacks or drinks?
The upstairs kitchen for all volunteers
If a child gets physical (biting, throwing things, hitting, etc), what should you do?
Tell an adult right away! Sometimes kids get physical with CREW, adults, or even other kids. No matter what, you are not expected to handle that! That is for an adult to handle.
If you come to serve, but are having a bad morning (maybe upset about something), how should you handle that with a Christ-Like attitude?
Pray (ask God to help you process it), talk to an adult, talk to your parents before you serve to help you process your feelings, etc
When serving, should you be cleaning/setting up small group or snack during the lesson? (tech this does not apply to you)
YES! We ask that CREW (except tech) who are serving to FIRST make sure that the tables are cleaned off and are prepared for snack/small group time.
*Elementary crew we would love for you to clean the drop off room toys and organize them
Until almost all the kids are picked up.
*if you have to leave right after service gets out that day, make sure to let your teacher know! Otherwise they are expecting you to help with all of pickup time
What are of the Reign Forest do you have to be 16 years old to serve?
the Nursery
If there is an emergency in the room (medical emergency, behaviour problem, earthquake, etc) what should CREW do?
Follow the instructions of the Adult leaders, help the other kids in the room feel calm, possibly go get a staff member!
