1. Proposed law is written and debated in the House of Commons.
2. The Bill is again debated in Parliament
3. It is passed down to a committee who go through it in detail.
4. It is debated again and a vote is taken.
5. The House of Lords debate and vote on the bill.
6. If it is passed, it is sent to the Queen who gives it the Royal Assent.
7. The Bill then becomes an Act of Parliament.
