What is the minimum testing score necessary to meet the benchmark for the CPC Assessment Exam?
80%. IT IS NOT A PASS FAIL AND WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO RE-CERTIFY. If you score less than 80% in any of the 4 areas additional CE will be assigned to you to complete prior to the next recertification cycle
Are there tests within the core modules?
Yes. In order to successfully complete the Core Module programs a program assessment exam must be completed. There are 10 questions per CE awarded to the program. You have 3 attempts to pass each test at 80%.
Does SAS provide virtual and on demand courses
Yes we do! Go to SummitAnesthesiaSeminars.com under the virtual tab. We have on demand courses, create your own customizable virtual conferences and LIVE feed virtual conferences.
How many of the 100 required CE per 4-year cycle can be class B?
40. Please note that any Class A in excess of the required 60 will automatically qualify as Class B credits.

What happens if you do not meet the benchmark exam minimum of 80%?
Additional CE will be assigned to you for completion prior to recertification.
Do I have to report Core Module results to the NBCRNA?
No. The approved Core Module provider will automatically report all completed programs directly to the NBCRNA and AANA for you!
Does SAS have destination conferences scheduled for next year?

What is considered a Class B credit?
Class B credits are professional activities that do one of the following:
-Enhance knowledge of anesthesia practice
-Support patient safety
-Foster an understanding of the broader health care environment
These include activities such as: Academic credits, clinical preceptorship, life support courses, contribution to medical publication, research, service in public or professional organizations/facility committees, medical mission trips, quality improvement initiatives or anesthesia podcast.
In relationship to your CPC cycle when do you need to take your CPC exam?
6 months prior to recertification [every 8 years]
How much do Core Modules cost?
There are various program providers available. The list is on NBCRNA.com. Each program has different CE values and pricing options.

Who is responsible for logging credits with the NBCRNA?
Class A courses are logged with the AANA by the educational company accredited to instruct the courses.
Class B activities are the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY of the CRNA to maintain and upload to the NBCRNA for recertification.
*Note, should the CRNA not be an AANA member, they will be responsible to maintain records regarding CE credits. The accredited providers DO NOT record Class A credits directly to the NBCRNA. They will however issue a certificate of complete for all completed programs for the CRNA to maintain and upload for recertification purposes
