What are some barriers or problems that could come with transportation trying to get to Psych Rehab?

Transportation broke down, bus is late, friend or family member is busy cannot take you

What did you think about the different jobs they had? Did you like the variety?

(Making pretzels, cleaning dishes, melting chocolate, labelling the boxes, working with hands vs working with equipment)

  • Something to know: The days may differ due to the contracts with different companies/businesses. One day you may focus on making pretzels, another day you may make cookies.

What do you think are benefits of everyone having an assigned role in the bakery?

  • Know the job well, get good at operating equipment, and faster production
  • Consistency with day/work schedule

When you are frustrated or upset with a task, how could your staff help you? How would you communicate that to them?

Let them know ahead of time how to help you or what could be upsetting/triggering to you. 

Examples: Telling them you need alone time, someone to explain things to you, someone to vent to or talk with, need a break, etc

What are some things you should be safe or cautious about?

  • Hot oven to work with, wear mitts, be careful pulling sheets out or putting them in
  • When carrying a knife, hold it down so you don’t hurt others
  • Be aware of supplies/equipment around you à keep track of items
  • When handling equipment/items, be aware of anything sharp or that could pinch you

What makes a place feel welcoming to you? 

Examples: Staff listening to your needs and wants, staff greeting you, staff checking in with you, having your own room/quiet place, being included in activities

What are signs that you might need to take a break? How would you tell someone that?

  • Feeling tired and drowsy
  • Body hurting from standing or from work
  • Feeling overwhelmed with tasks

It's good to communicate with staff and let them know. Tell them how you are feeling and that you might need a break for a few minutes.

Examples: workout gym, more apartments that a resource has a connection with, see more resources in your county, etc
