Participants can fire themselves from the Year Up program for any of the following reasons: 

Participants can fire themselves from the Year Up United program if they continually fail to meet the expectations laid out in the contract (resulting in a loss of all points), are responsible for a serious violation of Year Up United values/policies, or are not academically or professionally ready to advance to the next phase of the program.

What are the Career-Ready Dress Expectations both virtual and in person at Year Up United?

• Virtual: Focus on waist up following the tops of the Career Ready or Business Casual Dress 

• In-Person Events: Complete the outfit by following the dress expectations under Career Ready or Business Casual Dress. Make sure to pay attention the style of pants (avoid denim/sweats) and length of skirt.

How many absences are you allotted during L&D?

You are allotted two (2) absences used for any reason, including general health and wellness, during the Learning and Development Phase. Proper notification must be provided.

Absences may be used in half-day increments.

At the approval of the Year Up United staff, and with appropriate notice, communication, and documentation, you may be granted an “excused absence” in certain extreme circumstances.
