What is free will?
The ability to choose between right and wrong. Free will means we can choose to love God and obey him or choose what is wrong and disobey him.

The Gospels
What is the sacrament that washes away Original Sin and any actual sin. It gives us new life in Christ. This sacrament marks our souls as belonging to God, and it makes us members of the Church. It gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit. We need this sacrament for salvation.
Baptism
What are powerful spiritual beings who act as servants and messengers of God. They do not have bodies, but they sometimes appear in physical form. God created them to live with him in heaven and to help us live our lives on earth.

What is sin?
Something we say or do on purpose that offends God. It may also be something we should have done but did not do. A sin is always contrary to God’s will. It harms our relationship with him. It also harms us and other people. When we commit a mortal sin, we lose the life of God’s grace in our souls.

The act by which God made everything that exists. He made the heavens and the earth out of nothing. The Creation story is told in the first two chapters of Genesis, the first book of the Bible. The word creation also refers to the natural world, which God created.

A sacrament is a sacred and visible sign that is instituted by Jesus to give us grace, an undeserved gift from God.
What is a special angel who looks out for us? God gives each of us one of these to lead us to heaven. They pray for us, protect us from harm, and help us do the right thing.

A voice inside us that tells us how to do good and avoid evil. Church teaching and prayer help us to form our conscience. A well-formed conscience helps us make good decisions.

The beautiful garden God created for Adam and Eve, where they lived happily with him. They loved him, and they loved each other. When they disobeyed God, they could no longer live there.

The Old Testament is the first part of the Bible. It contains forty-six books that tell us about God and his people before the birth of Jesus.
The New Testament is the second part of the Bible. It consists of twenty-seven books that tell us about the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus and his teachings. They also tell us about the early Church.
What is the Sabbath?
The day of rest. On the first Sabbath, God rested after the six days of Creation. In the Third Commandment, God tells us to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. We observe the Sabbath each Sunday by resting and going to Mass.
What is Heaven?
Happiness with God that lasts forever. God made us for heaven. He created us to know him and love him. God created us to know him, love him, and do his will here on earth, and to be happy with him forever in heaven.

The invisible part of a person. The soul is immortal. When the body dies, the soul lives on. At the end of time, our souls will be reunited with our spiritual bodies. The soul is able to know things and makes choices.
