Next time I am faced with a challenge, I will remind myself what we learned in this class and work on accepting it happily
וילכו שניהם יחדיו
After accomplishing something good/monumental I will work on remaining humble
וילכו יחדיו - Avraham went back feeling at the same level as Yishmael and Eliezer
When davening I will add in joy - even though davening is hard for me
Even though I am exhausted at the end of the day, I put in the effort willingly to say the entire Shema before going to sleep
I will remind myself when I struggle with dressing tzniyus that this is a test Hashem wants me to overcome so that I can grow from it. This will strengthen my bond with Hashem. (even if I don't initially notice it)
קח נא
Next time I am tested, I will remind myself that it is for my benefit
Tests that Hashem gives us can either benefit the tester or the tested. Here it benefits the tested.
When I do well on a test, I will not act superior to others who have not done well on their tests
I will daven in the morning without making calculations of if i have enough time to daven everything, or if it is the right setting etc. I will just do it
Kabolas ol - not to think to deeply into what Hashem commands. Just do what Hashem asks.
Whenever I am faced with a challenge I tell myself that it will make me stronger/ smarter/ greater
והאלקים נסה את אברהם
Avraham got up early with excitement to do what Hashem asked him to (even though it was a very challenging request)
I will put the dishes in the sink after eating before my mother asks
וישכם אברהם בבקר
I will keep to my hachlata of giving tzedakah every day even on days when I don't have coins handy
Avraham did not allow obstacles to get in the way of him fulfilling Hashem's command
I will try to look at something knowing that there is a deeper meaning behind it even if it doesn't make sense to me. Like so many tests in school
והעלהו
I will remind myself when I am challenged with tzniyus or davening that Hashem is testing me because He knows that I can pass this test
Hashem tests those who He knows will pass
