Anything a person says or does that is measurable and observable

What are some comorbidities of autism?
Hyperactivity, seizure disorders, short attention span, irregular sleeping patterns, unusual reactions to sensory stimuli, etc
Give an example of a behavior
Breathing, eating, jumping, clapping, running, brushing teeth, smiling, etc
Define latency and provide an example
The amount of time that elapses between an SD and the occurrence of a behavior (giving the demand "touch apple" and counting how long it takes for the patient to touch the picture of the apple, etc)

What should you do if your client is not present at pickup?
Give them a few minutes for them to arrive (approximately 7 minutes), then ask the practice manager if they have received any updates from the parent
What is autism caused by?
The cause of autism is currently unknown, but there is a suspected genetic and environmental component
Give an example of a non-behavior
Having a calm body, having a quiet voice, lying still, etc
Define whole interval recording and provide an example
Record whether or not a target behavior occurs for the entirety of the intervals that are being observed. (setting a two minute timer and recoding if they were able to sit for the entire two minutes or not)
Who should you go to if you have a question about your client's target
Your BCBA or the Clinical Director, Intern or Lead RBT if your BCBA is not available
What are some strategies you can use to keep the center clean?
Clean up what your client played with before leaving the room, have the client clean up after themselves, put away materials when you are finished with them before switching to a new activity
How early can somebody receive an autism diagnosis?
18 months of age
Explain the concept of the dead man's test
If a dead man can do it, then it is not a behavior
Define partial interval recording and provide an example
A therapist records if the behavior occurred at any point in each interval (breaking up a 2 minute timer into four 30 second intervals and recording if the patient got out of their seat at any point during each of the four intervals)

What are some things to ask the parent at pickup?
How the client slept, if they are on any medicine, if there were any noticeable and unexpected changes in behavior, etc
What are the skills that are typically impaired by autism?
Communication, social skills, and behavior
Is sleeping a behavior?
Yes, because consists of other behaviors such as breathing, eye movement, dreaming, snoring, etc.
Define momentary time sampling and provide an example
If the target behavior is occurring as soon as the interval ends, the therapist records a ‘+’ and if the behavior is not occurring a ‘-’ is recorded (a teacher sets a five minute timer, and records which students are on task when the timer ends and which are not)
