The two main components of the robot
What are the chassis and superstructure?
A very basic chassis design
What is a square chassis?
The first steps in the design process
What are define and identify?
A coding platform that uses both a graphic interface and a text editor
What is VEX C++?
The plates that are bent up on the sides and are used in almost every part of the robot because of their strength
What is a c-channel?
The type of chassis shown in the picture:
What is an H-chassis?
The third step of the design process that is based on research
What is brainstorming?
A sequence of steps that are repeated until a condition is fulfilled
What is a while loop?
The type of wheel that allows you to crabwalk.
What are mecanum wheels?
The lift that moves in a straight line, usually up and down
What is a "linear lift"?
A notebook used to document work on a project in chronological order, we use it to track the developments/advancement of our robot and team
What is an engineering notebook?
A type of statement that tells a program to preform a task based on certain conditions
What is and if-then-else statement?
This part has a piece of plastic inside of it that prevents it from moving when tightened
What is a lock nut?
A non linear lift that is very unbalanced
What is a 4, 6, or 8 bar lift?
The initial building of the design
What is prototyping?
Using two joysticks on a controller to control each side the chassis vs using one joystick on a controller to move the chassis forwards, backwards and sideways and using the other joystick to turn
What is the difference between tank drive and arcade drive?
A type of gear ratio for a powerful strong mechanism that has the smaller gear as the driving gear and the bigger gear as the driven gear
What is a torque ratio?
The chassis type that has the ability to "crab walk", or move sideways without turning
What is a holonomic chassis?
The number of steps in the engineering design process
What is 8?
Something you put on your robot in order to detect things around it.
What is a sensor?
