How can you get a cool down? 

What is... directed or intentional swearing, aggression towards property (yours or ours). refusing to take resets, getting more than 3 resets, name calling, teasing, disrespect, invading boundaries/personal space, walking ahead of the group in the halls, standing on tables, etc.

Tiffany received a reset for not following directions. When given a reset, Tiffany took really fast paced breathes and then continued not following directions. Is this taking a rest? 

What is no... taking a reset is being able to take slow deep breathes and then being able to move on from negative behavior.

What is petitioning? 

What is... Clients will read their packet in group therapy. Then the person will give feedback to themselves on what they have done good in the previous stage and something that can work on/continue working on. Everyone then gives the same format of feedback. Finally, Everyone gives thumbs to the side for more feedback or thumbs up for to vote on the person moving stages.

Yes, this is not meeting the program expectations and is most likely not meeting your treatment goals. You still have an opportunity earn points during other hours and turning your behavior around to increase chances of getting a 3.

What is Stage 3 for? 

What is... Therapeutic: Clients will learn practice, and use skills during group therapy, individual therapy. Use these skills at home and in Day Treatment. Learn more about your goals on your treatment plan and to be able to make progress towards goals in Day Treatment. Clients will also learn a positive foundation of good coping skills to use.

What is a cool down? 

What is "You will take a time with staff outside the classroom or away from peers. Clients will take two minutes to show having a calm body. (i.e. not talking, making unhelpful noises, not following directions, being aggressive, etc)

Clients then will talk about why they got the cool down and coping skills they can use upon returning.

*if staff feels that you are not ready to go back to the classroom, you will need to practice coping skills or problem solve before going back in the classroom*

What is confidentiality? 

what is "Confidentiality is an expectation of Day Treatment . The people you meet here and the information shared here are protected by confidentiality. Staff want to make sure that this is a safe place to share things." 

This means no contacting each other outside of Day Treatment. This would be via social media, gaming consoles, email, written letters, and any other form of contacting.
