As the women striking, they had a lot to consider, for the short term and in the long run. If they did strike, they would miss the chance to be the first team ever to win a World Cup and an Olympic gold consecutively. Sitting out the Olympics might also jeopardize their growing fan base and future corporate sponsorships.
We can infer that jeopardize means risk because sitting out the Olympics would put their future at risk.
