This is what is happening in front of the net (Ds, Goalies) the moment right before, and right after, a shot is taken
The Ds try to win inside position but do not engage with the player in front. The goalie is responsible for seeing around the player.
Ds take the attackers stick, then body after the shot is taken. Goalie makes the save, and Ds must be in good position to find and clear rebound if necessary
