Scenario: Jamatkhana has just finished, and you’re responsible for ensuring the radios are properly handled. You approach the radios, which have been used extensively and you notice that the light is red. As part of your duties, you need to ensure the radios are both safely stored and properly charged. However, you’re unsure whether they have been charged correctly before, and you suspect the batteries might have been drained. What should you do to ensure they’re ready for the next use?

Turn off the radios and place them on their chargers, making sure you hear the click and see the green/red light indicating that they are charging.

Hint: It’s critical to ensure that the radios are charged and ready for the next service, especially when the battery level appears low. The click and indicator light confirm proper charging, which helps prevent issues on the next day.

You are standing on door during Majalis and one of the Jamati members near you starts choking. What should you do?

Call over the Inside Safety Volunteer and then inform the team lead as soon as possible. Make sure to clear the area to give the Jamati member space.

Jamati members are crowding the Social Hall during Nandi and it is making it very hard for the nandi transporter to take nandis to the REC room. The CMV volunteer has already told them to move but they are still blocking the area. What should you do? (Have to name both things for full credit)

- Kindly request the Jamati members to move to the side and explain to them that they are causing problems for the Nandi Transporter.

- If they do not listen, tell your team lead immediately and the team lead will request the Nandi person to stop the Nandi Ceremonies and ask the Jamati members to move to the side.

Scenario: A lockdown warning is issued by your team lead after suspicious activity happens near Jamatkhana. What protocol do you use and what steps does it involve?


Answer: Lockdown warning protocol: Lock outside doors and gather the Jamat in a place with no windows and lockable doors, ex. Prayer hall or REC room

Scenario: We've just finished with Jamati ceremonies Jamatkhana, and everything seems normal. However, as you're grabbing the green bags for Nandi, you hear a loud crash from inside. You find that a glass dish has fallen off the counter, causing a small spill of water. The water is spilling onto the floor, and the glass has shattered. The space is now slightly messy and could be unsafe for the jamati members. What should you do first?

Immediately inform the team lead/facilitators about the situation. They will clean up the broken glass to avoid any accidents. You will be responsible to make sure no Jamati members go near the area, and are not hurt.

Hint: Safety is the IMMEDIATE priority. Cleaning up the broken glass right away ensures that no one gets injured when they arrive. Once the glass is cleaned, you can assess if any other items were affected.
